Quantifying and mitigating batch effects across RNA-seq datasets of brain cortex tissue and glioblastoma. Using differential expression and network methods to identify potential targets in glioblastoma.

Chosen to represent Ireland at RSI at MIT. Worked in the Biomedical Cybernetics Lab, building software that identified associations between point mutations and diseases from clinical data and genome sequences. Delivered an oral presentation and wrote a paper.

Selected for a seven week talent accelerator. Began development of BloodBox, a diagnostic tool for malaria, and pitched it to startup founders and VCs, securing over €20,000 in initial funding.
